NTX Giving Day is designed to mobilize nonprofits who create a lasting impact on our community.

Spirit of a Hero is pushing towards a better way to care for the spirit of our heroes by building a facility called "AT EASE". It's a place where vets can go to receive both traditional and non traditional therapies for PTSD.

We envision lush walkable grounds, sports accommodations, counselors, equine therapy, massage, acupuncture etc. Anything we can think of that would serve those that served us, we want in our facility.

If you need an excuse to give, here's one... North Texas Giving Day. I'm not gonna lie, it's a bit confusing -- do I give on that day? If so, why that day? Can I give now? Does my money count If I give It today?

The answer is, we will use every bit of whatever you give whenever you give It to put towards this worthy and amazing cause.

The March is the symbol of how Carry The Load started, represents carrying the fallen heroes we honor, and we welcome you to join whether for 20 hours or 20 minutes. I read through this website about PTSD and addiction so that I could educate myself and better internalize what our Vets feel even though we can't see their wounds.

This small piece of this very difficult to read study, made me very sad. Our vets should be the LAST people on Earth that should feel shame, empty or have a "hole" in their soul.

It makes me want to help all over again, and it should make you want to help, too.

"The post traumatic shame described here as “soul-death,” “soulmurder,” loss of ego identity, and a sense of self as “empty.” also seems to be close to the “hole in the soul” often talked about by recovering people in recovery groups."
